Auditions are held twice a year, generally in August and January. Singers who read music and are high-school age and older are encouraged to audition for the choir.

Our music director will meet with you, hear you vocalize, and discuss your musical background and interest in singing with BACH. Auditions include scales, tonal memory, sight-singing, and 1 to 2 minutes of any piece of your choice (sung unaccompanied).

SOLOIST AUDITIONS
Date and Location to Be Announced

Soloist auditions are held once a year, separate from choir auditions, at the beginning of the season.

Who Is BACH?

Our members are generally experienced choral singers, with a mixture of ordinary amateurs and professional musicians. You’ll sing with retired people, students, full-time parents, church musicians, high-school teachers, professors — all kinds of music lovers!

Baroque music is the cornerstone of each season, but we use that as a jumping-off point for exploring music from many time periods.

Rehearsals & Requirements

BACH encourages singers to support the choir through active participation, volunteerism, and concert promotion. Minimal dues, which cover music and other miscellaneous costs, are required. Scholarship waivers are provided for those who need financial assistance.

BACH asks singers to commit to regular rehearsal attendance, with a maximum of two absences per concert. There are approximately 10 rehearsals per concert. Rehearsals are usually on Monday evenings from 7:15 to 9:15.
